To understand why a particular immune response occurs the way it does, we need to understand how these cells cooperate and regulate each other in this process.

This type of immunological investigation has been made possible by a number of new technologies, that now allow us to measure many features of millions of individual cells, many hundreds of secreted proteins, and the entire genome, transcriptome, and epigenetic traits...to understand the basis of these responses.
