How do I obtain single cells for gene expression analysis, and how are single cells collected?
Single cells can be collected in a variety of ways, including fluorescence-assisted cell sorting, laser capture microdissection and manual pipetting of individual cells.
The Fluidigm C1 system can also be used to capture and process individual cells. C1 isolates single cells and performs lysis, reverse transcription and preamplification in preparation for gene expression analysis.
