Anti-Human CD66b (80H3)-152Sm—100 Tests

CD66b (CEACAM8, CGM6, NCA-95) is a single-chain GPI-anchored glycoprotein of 95–100 kDa, and is a member of the Ig superfamily and the human carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family. CEAs are widely used as colorectal carcinoma tumor markers but are expressed in normal tissues and during fetal development. CD66b is exclusively expressed on human granulocytes and used as a marker of granulocyte activation. However, the functions of this molecule are largely unknown in eosinophils. Under normal conditions, neutrophils have minimal expression of CD66b, but incubation in vitro with inflammatory agonists rapidly increases this expression. The eosinophil expression of CD66b is also enhanced in vitro by incubation with activated lymphocytes or with IL-5.
