Fluidigm Therapeutic Insights Services (TIS) is excited to launch the COVID-19 Research Grant Program (applicable in the US and Canada only) to support research and applications for the monitoring of human immune system response to COVID-19 disease with the unique Fluidigm high-multiplex tissue imaging technology, Imaging Mass Cytometry (IMC).
IMC enables the spatial visualization and single-cell analysis of immune response in tissue samples. Further, the high dimensionality of IMC allows for deeper insights into clinical outcomes and changes in inflammatory or immune function.

Proven CyTOF technology used for mass cytometry and IMC services
CyTOF® technology is the foundation of the mass cytometry and Imaging Mass Cytometry single-cell analysis services performed using the Helios™ and Hyperion™ Imaging System platforms. The technology uses highly pure metal-tagged antibodies to resolve highly multiplexed protein markers and reveal systems-level biology at single-cell resolution. In contrast to approaches that utilize fluorescent tags, the metal-tag signals are separated by mass instead of by wavelength. This eliminates spectral overlap and tissue autofluorescence issues, significantly simplifies high-multiplex panel design and results in uniform staining with minimal background for top-quality data.

Single-cell data analytics from a plasma membrane segmentation approach
Effective cell segmentation is important to generating quantitative results and more accurate data analysis from IMC experiments. The Therapeutic Insights Services team has developed a novel multimarker panel that helps generate single-cell segmentation for better analysis that can drive more insights (Figure 2).

Technologies used in Therapeutic Insights Services
Best-in-class Maxpar reagents
Therapeutic Insights Services uses Maxpar reagents and protocols to interrogate cells in tissue samples with IMC. Maxpar metal-conjugated antibodies can be chosen from our catalog or can be custom-conjugated by the Fluidigm services team as part of your service package. All Maxpar metal-conjugated catalog antibodies used in IMC have been evaluated by an independent pathologist for staining in appropriate tissue to ensure optimal results.
We are happy to consult and make a recommendation on the best antibody labeling approach if you already have a selection of unlabeled antibodies that you would like to use. Please ask us if you would like to have Fluidigm perform the staining on your samples of cells in solution, and we can discuss options for this.
